GOVERNMENT SILENT ON WHO HOLDS GRENADIAN PASSPORTS

ST GEORGE‘S, Grenada: Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell has said that revealing who holds Grenada's passport as a result of the now defunct economic citizenship programme is not in the best interest of the country and its national security. Dr Mitchell made these comments while responding to a question posed by an opposition parliamentarian during the last sitting of the Lower House. However during the campaign leading up to last November's general elections the Prime Minister's New National Party in its column called the “NNP Perspective” in the Grenada Informer newspaper had this to say: “Accountability is a key requirement of good governance”. “Accountability cannot be enforced without transparency and the rule of law.
